I am often asked what my company name means and how I came up with it. The name “foreClarity!” simply means “clarity first”. It arose from asking my self what I most wanted to accomplish in consulting with leaders and from considering what the greatest challenge is to leaders in any age.
The answer that emerged was crystal clear. Get clarity first!
The greatest challenge for leaders in any field is to draw clarity out of complexity and confusion . . from plans/projects and for people.
Yet, to give clarity to others, the effective leader must first have it for her/him self.
Sounds easy. It is not!
This blog and my business, therefore, exists to help all of us who lead to consider the principles and create the filters that help extract clarity from convolution, confusion and complexity. The principles I will share, and the filters I will suggest, will generally have been vetted out in the laboratory of my own life first. I am not looking for my clients or my readers to agree with me as much as I am hoping to intrigue them/you and to launch leaders on a more earnest and more effective pursuit of the clarity that is necessary to lead with excellence.
So if the root of logic is the “first thing”, then there you have it . . the “first thing” in logical leadership is to get clarity first!
